My mother and brother and I spent a long summer in Mexico when I was about ten. We were moving from New Orleans to Colorado, and it was a perfect time for us to go visit friends and explore. I was utterly enamored with the folkloric art everywhere we went, and still am today. I purchased a little painted wooden box, I wrote my name and phone number inside the lid, and still have it to this day.
La Flor is my grown up version of my childhood memories of all the exotic flowers seemingly covering every inch of that beautiful country.
